LINKS AND RESOURCES

German Commercial Web-publishing

  • Der Spiegel Online Edition - Germany's most popular weekly newsmagazine is now "delivered" right to you for the cost of a local phone call!  Archives available for back issues up to four years.  Note that some services are only available for back issues at a premium.
  • Focus - German newsmagazine, easier than "Spiegel".
  • Die Welt - Germany's big conservative-leaning daily has its own rich web-site full of stories and smaller press clippings on Germany and the world at large. Also sports and entertainment sections, too. Fast download time due to near-text-only content makes this a stop for the web-surfer in a hurry.
  • die taz - as in Tageszeitung; leading leftist daily in Germany offers, quite appropriately and most helpfully, its entire printed edition from Berlin to web-surfers worldwide.
  • Bild - Germany's largest-circulation tabloid.
  • Hamburger Morgenpost Online - Very nice site, great links.
  • Der Standard Online - Science, Kultur, and political discourse from Austria. Featherweight version of its hardcopy self.
  • Tages-Anzeiger - Swiss daily with many links.
