Honor Society

Hunter College is home of the Sigma Epsilon Phi Chapter of the National German Honor Society, Delta Phi Alpha. Please consult the department for exact requirements. New members are inducted in May at our annual awards and recognition event.

Exchange Program with Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe, Germany.

Each year, one Hunter College student will receive substantial financial support to spend the academic year studying at the Pädagogische Hochschule in Karlsruhe. Please consult the department for details and application deadline.

International Examinations

The German Department is a testing site for the "Zertifikat Deutsch" and the "Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung". These examinations are given world-wide by the Goethe Institute, the cultural arm of the German government. Please consult the department for exact dates.

Max Kade Scholarships for Study Abroad

The German Department received a grant from the Max Kade Foundation to support students participating in our study abroad program in Kassel. Please consult the department for details.
